The world of Game of Thrones is growing and HBO has several new spinoff ideas that are in the works!
We already know that the prequel series House of the Dragon will begin filming next month and an exciting cast has been set for the show. There is also a potential animated series in the works for HBO Max and an adaptation of the “Tales of Dunk & Egg” novellas for HBO.
Now, Deadline reports that three more spinoffs are being developed by the network.
You can read all about the three ideas below:
The potential 9 Voyages series is being developed by Rome creator Bruno Heller and follows the “great voyages at sea made by Corlys Velaryon aboard the Sea Snake ship. Velaryon journeyed to places including Pentos, Dragonstone and around the bottom of Westeros as well as to Lys, Tyrosh and Myr. He reached the fabled lands of Yi Ti and Leng, whose wealth doubled that of the House Velaryon, and him and the Ice Wolf headed north searching for passage around the top of Westeros, only to find frozen seas and icebergs as big as mountains.”
A series that takes place in Flea Bottom is in the works. Those who watched the show know that this is the slum in King’s Landing where such characters as Davos Seaworth and Gendry Baratheon were born. The district is “a maze-like warren of narrow streets and dark alleys filled with tanneries, brothels and ale houses.”
This spin-off series will follow “the journey made by warrior queen Princess Nymeria and the surviving members of the Rhoynars, who travelled from Essos to Dorne following their defeat by the Valyrian Freehold in the Second Spice War. This migration took place around 1,000 years before the events depicted in the A Song of Ice and Fire novels.” Arya Stark’s direwolf was named after Princess Nymeria.
