CD Projekt Red has announced that it will acquire its long-time development partner, Digital Scapes, and detailed a marketing and development plan that will cover multiple games and hopefully avoid another Cyberpunk 2077-style disaster.
In a press release, the Candian company stated that they will join the three existing development teams at CD Projekt Red to jointly work on upcoming projects.
Those upcoming projects will also be made under a new development plan which will see multiple AAA games and expansions developed in parallel with one another. Marketing cycles for those games will also be much shorter with promotional content released much closer to launch, presumably to not have a repeat of the seven-year-long hype cycle Cyberpunk 2077 had.
Also CD Projekt Red will develop new online technologies for online features in their games, which will be gradually rolled out. So, while not confirmed it sure sounds like we are going to get that GTA Online-like experience for Cyberpunk.
This is all very interesting and gives us a hint as to what CD Projekt Red will be working on in the future and how they are trying to avoid another messy launch.
