A new report from Variety has revealed that The Last of Us HBO Series has picked up two more directors, with Bosnian Director Jasmila Žbanić and Iranian Director Ali Abbasi joining the team.

Both directors have been nominated for awards and one a few as well, with Žbanić’s “Quo vadis, Aida” winning a Spirit Award and Abbasi’s “Border” winning the Cannes Film Festival’s Un Certain Regard Award for directing.

Both directors join Kantamir Balagov, who will direct the show’s pilot episode. Production for the show is set to kick off in July and last around a year, so we won’t be seeing the show anytime soon. A number of the moments in the show will also deviate from the games, alongside showing memorable moments.

Casting announcements for the show have now been confirmed with Pedro Pascal set to star as Joel, alongside Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Gabriel Luna has also been cast as Joel’s brother, Tommy.
