In a statement, director Eli Roth expressed his excitement about production getting underway, “I am so excited to work with this incredible, top notch cast. Every single part counts and elevates the film and we have the best of the best coming in to really make Borderlands spectacular. I love movies where every character counts and you can only achieve that with a great cast. Every one of these gifted actors will bring something special to the film.

They join an all-star cast featuring 2x Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett (Thor: Ragnarok; The Lord of the Rings) as Lilith, Primetime Emmy-nominee Kevin Hart (Jumanji: The Next Level; Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) as Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween; Knives Out) as Dr. Patricia Tannis, 2x Golden Globe-nominee Jack Black (Tropic Thunder; Jumanji: The Next Level) as Claptrap, Janina Gavankar (The League; The Way Back) as Knoxx, Ariana Greenblatt (Avengers: Infinity War; Love and Monsters) as Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu (Creed II; Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) as Krieg, Olivier Richters (Black Widow; The King’s Man) as Krom, Haley Bennett (The Magnificent Seven; The Devil All the Time) in an undisclosed role, and Edgar Ramírez (American Crime Story; Jungle Cruise) as Atlas.

Horror maestro Roth (The House with a Clock in Its Walls; Death Wish) is in the director’s chair, utilizing a screenplay from 2x Primetime Emmy-winner Craig Mazin (Chernobyl; The Last of Us).

Two-time Academy Award® winner Cate Blanchett teams up with Kevin Hart in director Eli Roth’s Borderlands. Lilith (Blanchett), an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the universe’s most powerful S.O.B., Atlas (Ramirez). Lilith forms an alliance with an unexpected team – Roland (Hart), a former elite mercenary, now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis (Curtis), the scientist with a tenuous grip on sanity; and Claptrap (Black), a persistently wiseass robot.

These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other. Based on the game from Gearbox and 2K, one of the bestselling videogame franchises of all time, welcome to Borderlands.
