Two brothers, Tom and James, purchased the single location pizza spot for $500 and renamed it "Domino’s" five years later. Currently, the pizza giant boasts more than 5,600 locations, and it is one of the go-to spots for pizza.

Gather the Ingredients
You won’t need a ton of items for this recipe, and hopefully, a few of them will already be in your pantry. All you need is one packet of active dry yeast, some sugar, warm water, and olive oil. You will also want to grab salt, all-purpose flour, and shredded provolone. "Yes, Domino’s uses shredded provolone," Carli shares. "You could substitute shredded mozzarella if you like that."
To complete the list, you just need a few chicken breasts, taco seasoning, Roma tomatoes, a green bell pepper, yellow onion, and a few slices of American cheese. Now let’s get started!
Preheat and prep
The first thing you will want to do is to turn the oven up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which will come in handy in just a few minutes. Grab a mixing bowl (preferably one for a stand mixer) and add the yeast, sugar, and water. Place it under the mixer and use the paddle attachment to combine. Let the mix sit for about 5 minutes until some bubbles begin forming.
After that, you can add the olive oil, salt, and flour and mix again until everything is well combined. Switch to the dough hook and knead until the dough isn’t sticky. This will take about 8 minutes.
Remove dough and continue
Once the dough has lost its stickiness, you can remove it from the stand mixer. Now, place it in a large bowl that has been prepped with a tablespoon of olive oil. Give the dough a few turns with your hands, so it is covered in the olive oil. Cover the bowl with a lid and let it sit for at least two hours, which should give the dough enough time to rise. In the meantime, you can begin a few other steps so you’ll be ready to throw together the pizza when the dough is done.
Cook the chicken
While the dough is rising, get out your favorite cast iron skillet and put it on the stove on medium-high heat. Add about a tablespoon of olive oil and once it gets hot, throw in your chicken breasts. Cook each side of the chicken for about four minutes, so they get a good sear. Then, put the chicken in your 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for about 10 minutes in the cast iron pan, so it cooks all the way through. Once it’s out, dice it and set it aside.
Turn the oven higher and prep dough
Once you finish the chicken in the oven and the dough has finished rising, you can kick up the oven heat to 475 degrees Fahrenheit. After the dough has set for two hours, remove it and cut it into two equal pieces — one for each pizza. Place each piece on a separate plate and cover with a dish towel for about 15 minutes.
When the 15 minutes is up, roll each into a 12-inch circle, place it on a baking sheet (or pizza stone), and move on to the next step.
Add the toppings
Now, it’s time for the fun part! Cover each pizza with the copycat chicken taco pizza toppings. As a base, you’ll start with the shredded provolone cheese and then add the diced chicken breast. Then, go ahead and add a tablespoon of taco seasoning, diced tomato, diced bell pepper, diced white onion, and chopped white American cheese to each pizza. - 1 ½ cups warm water
- 3 tablespoon olive oil, divided
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2-3 chicken breasts
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- ½ yellow onion, diced
- 6 slices white American cheese, diced
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the yeast, sugar, and water. Using the paddle attachment, stir to combine. Let sit for 5 minutes, until bubbles start to form.
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, the salt, and the flour. Mix until combined. Switch to the dough hook and knead until dough is no longer sticky and a rough ball forms, about 8 minutes.
- Remove dough from stand mixer and place in a large bowl that has been prepared with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Turn it, covering the dough in oil. Cover with lid and allow to rise for 2 hours.
- In the meantime, cook your chicken breasts. In a medium cast iron skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Once hot, add chicken. Cook for 4 minutes on each side to sear.
- Place iron skillet in the preheated oven and cook chicken thoroughly, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and dice. Set aside.
- Returning to your dough, remove dough from the bowl after 2 hours. Cut into 2 pieces and form into a ball shape. Place on separate plates and cover with dish towels for 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 475 degrees Fahrenheit.
- After 15 minutes, roll out each ball into a 12-inch circle. Place each on a pizza baking sheet.
- Cover each pizza with ½ cup of shredded provolone cheese, ½ the diced chicken breast, 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning, ½ the tomato, ½ the green bell pepper, ¼ the onion, and 2 tablespoons of diced white American cheese.
- Bake in the oven for 12 minutes.
- Cut the pizzas into slices and serve hot!
