“Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have been married for eighteen years. When Chip and Joanna were asked about divorce during a recent interview about their Magnolia Network, they opened up about why it was never a consideration for them even when times got tough.

Chip and Joanna were discussing the upcoming launch of their new Magnolia Network with Access Hollywood. Part of the beloved home improvement duo’s brand is their relationship. Together they have five kids and their business is certainly a family affair.

Interview Turns Serious When Topic Turns To Marriage

After a conversation of Chip’s new long hairstyle thanks in part to the pandemic, the interview took a serious turn. Many couples might be wise to listen to Chip and Joanna’s approach to marriage.

While the drains of fame often torpedo many relationships, the Gaines remain strongly committed to their marriage. They made that decision at the beginning and there was simply no turning back after that, no matter what.

“Has there ever been a moment for the two of you when you thought you were going to throw in the towel?” Kit Hoover of Access Hollywood asked the couple.

“One thing that I would say is our superpower is that Jo and I are not quitters,” Chip said as Joanna agreed. “Throwing in the towel is not something honestly that ever even comes to mind.”

Things got tough for Chip and Joanna Gaines during the 2008 housing crisis. The floor fell out of the market. It was a stressful time for many couples, especially those involved together in that business. But, they persevered because of that early promise and their refusal to quit.

Divorce Is Not An Option For Chip And Joanna Gaines

“Divorce or leaving one another is not really an option for us. And so somehow that little foundation has definitely served us well because things have definitely been challenging, we’re not perfect and we have issues and trials and errors just like anybody… We’re in it forever,” the dedicated husband stated.
