Well our hosts Dr. Patrick Owens and Briannah Donolo are here to show us 3 tricks that will have you eating better in no time which could help you lose some serious weight! Just watch the video above or keep on reading below for those 3 tricks.
Stop tricking yourself into eating crap. Seriously just cut it out. If you know the food you are consuming is bad for you then stop making excuses… "oh I had a bad day" or "oh I went for a run today", and stop eating it entirely. If you keep eating all that junk food you have to realize you won’t lose any fat! No one said will power comes easily but you are going to need it.
Do your research. Some food is very obviously unhealthy and so easily avoidable. But you might be surprised at what goes into a lot of other foods you might consider healthy from granola to cereal. So get in the habit of reading all the nutritional information on the food you buy. A good rule of thumb when grocery shopping is to avoid buying anything with more than 15g of sugar per serving. Or better yet, stick to whole foods which don’t even have a nutritional label on them!
Do your best to avoid dairy, fruit juices or wheat. This is because these foods will really push up your blood sugar level which in turn will increase your insulin levels. Which is not something you want if you are trying to become a fat burning machine, since your body will be taking the energy from these caloric heavy foods rather than it’s own fat stores. The truth is you need to keep your insulin levels low if you want to burn fat so avoid those foods if you can.
