We hope you’re ready, This Is Us fans, because the sixth—and final—season of the NBC drama is right around the corner.

Yesterday, NBC released their midseason programming schedule, and the news came with the official release date for the final season of This Is Us. According to the network, season 6 will premiere on January 4 at 9 p.m. ET.

The date was shared to the official This Is Us Instagram account as well, where they said, “Relive every moment before the final chapter of #ThisIsUs begins January 4 on @NBC.”

Season 5 wrapped in May with a surprising time jump and a major cliffhanger, so fans have been anxious for the show to return.

Mandy Moore (who plays Rebecca Pearson) discussed the show ending in an Instagram post back in May as well, where she shared a tweet from the show’s creator that said, “Whoever casually first said ‘All good things must come to an end’ never had to end their favorite thing. While sad to have just 1 season left, also grateful to NBC for letting us end the show how, and when, we always intended. We’ll work hard to stick the landing.”

Moore added in her own feelings, writing, “Officially official. One season left of my favorite job. You can bet we will be soaking in every single moment. #thisisus.”

Back in 2019, co-star Milo Ventimiglia (Jack Pearson) shared his own feelings about the show’s eventual ending while on Ellen, saying, “We’ve had this end in mind for a long time, so we’re able to plan for it and try to make it feel like it’s a whole, as opposed to a series that’s going to go endlessly.”

We’re certainly not ready to see them go. But you can bet we’ll be tuning in on January 4.
