Style Living Usa Olympic Ceremony Uniforms

Team USA is suiting up for the 2022 Winter Olympics (starting February 3rd on NBC and Peacock) in the most innovative uniforms yet, the TODAY Show revealed on January 20. Ralph Lauren unveiled the official outfits athletes will be wearing during the opening ceremony — and it’s safe to say that Team USA will be taking on the games in style.

The patriotic uniforms are ultra-advanced this year due to a new warming technology called Intelligent Insulation. Ralph Lauren worked with Skyscrape on this temperature responsive fabric, which automatically adapts to cold weather by expanding, providing athletes with an additional layer of insulation.

“The development and introduction of Intelligent Insulation reimagines what is possible in the apparel landscape," Ralph Lauren’s Chief Branding and Innovation Officer David Lauren said in a statement. "For the first time, you can have a singular item that provides incredible versatility and style, for a variety of temperatures, changing the way we can holistically think about the makeup of a consumer’s closet."

All items are made in the U.S., with some crafted sustainably. The anoraks ($1,998), pants ($195), leggings ($298), gloves ($145), beanies ($145), and socks ($20) were even produced from recycled polyester fabrics that were made from plastic bottles. As for the fashion front, the patriotic red, white, and blue jackets have a roomy front pouch, a cinch waist, and cool graphic touches on the sleeves. The competitors’ will top off their looks with cold-weather-approved accessories including knit navy beanies, thick blue gloves, and winter boots.
