Capcom has announced that Devil May Cry 5 has eclipsed five million sales worldwide following its debut in March 2019 on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
While the company didn’t specific if the figure includes the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, which launched in November 2020, the original release of the game had moved 4.8 million as of December 31, 2021.
Devil May Cry 5 features three playable characters in the shape of Dante, Nero, and newcomer V, who team up to take down the Demon King Urizen, who has set his sights on destroying the world. Unlike DmC: Devil May Cry, this is a continuation of the original series that started in 2001 for PS2/
Capcom hasn’t announced any plans for a Devil May Cry 6 at this point, but given the success of the latest instalment, they’re unlikely to retire the brand anytime soon.
