5 Ways To Trick Yourself Into Exercising

Exercising is hard. But, there are a few ways that you can trick, or train, yourself into doing it. With many of us just sitting around and not working out in gyms or even moving around as much as usual, we’re gaining a few pounds. But how can we combat this? Finding everyday ways to exercise and work out. If you’re not the type that grew up working out and being athletic, it may be hard to start. But here are 5 ideas to trick or train yourself into starting today.

Small Routine Add-Ons

One non-aggressive way to get your mind and body used to the idea of exercising is to add small exercise routines to your daily schedule. How do you like to wake up in the morning? Can you afford to add a few pushups to your wakeup routine? Try to add a few jumping jacks at scheduled parts of your day. Adding small moments of exercising can help you get used to fitness.

App

Once you’ve gotten your mind around the idea of exercising, you can now find resources for how to exercise. One great resource to utilize apps. There are a number of apps that provide exercise expertise, routines for workouts, and other information on how to stay fit in a convenient way. One app that we recommend is the 30 Day Fitness App, which introduces you to a regular workout that starts small and grows more challenging as you go. That’s the right attitude you should have for folding in an exercising mind.

YouTube

One other resource you can use is YouTube. There are plenty of videos that show you how to correctly do different exercise routines. Many also do the work with you. Plus, there are currently many fitness gurus giving free live sessions during the pandemic.

Go On Walks/Short Jogs

But if you need to find other ways to trick and not train your mind into exercising, try a slow approach. For instance, begin with just a simple walk. Then, take another one. And then another. Walking is a great way to get yourself out of the house, get around your area, and exercise. This is a small task you can do that can ultimately have big effects in the long run (see what we did there?).

Sports With Friends/Family/Kids

One other aspect to consider is sports. While some parks and sports centers are closed during the pandemic, staying active is still legal. Get outside and throw a ball with your roommates. Play a game of soccer with your kids. There are plenty of sports or athletic games to play while social distancing with people in your home
