Iconic Batman actor Kevin Conroy, best known for voicing the Caped Crusader on Batman: The Animated series, has passed away.
Some very sad news has broken today, as Kevin Conroy has passed away at the age of 66.
His death was revealed by Diane Pershing, the voice of the DC character Poison Ivy, and later confirmed by his publicist:
“Very sad news: our beloved voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, died yesterday. He’s been ill for a while but he really put in a lot of time at the cons, to the joy of all of his fans. He will be sorely missed not just by the cast of the series but by his legion of fans all over the world,” Pershing shared on Facebook today.
Conroy had been battling cancer and after a short fight, passed away. Of course, tributes are already flowing in for the iconic actor and one of the best Batmans we’ve ever had, known for his time playing the role in Batman: The Animated Series, among other projects.
“Kevin was far more than an actor whom I had the pleasure of casting and directing—he was a dear friend for 30+ years whose kindness and generous spirit knew no boundaries,” said casting director Andrea Romano in a press release provided by Warner Bros. “Kevin’s warm heart, delightfully deep laugh and pure love of life will be with me forever.”
RIP Kevin Conroy, you will be missed.
