Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley, has died. She was 54.

Presley died Thursday (Jan. 12) following a hospitalization for a medical emergency, according to the Associated Press. Her death was confirmed in a statement shared by her mother, Priscilla Presley.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” she said, per the AP. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

Earlier in the day, Priscilla had asked for prayers for Lisa Marie after she was admitted to the hospital for reported cardiac arrest. She wrote on Twitter, “My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers,” adding, “We feel the prayers from around the world and ask for privacy at this time.”

A source told Deadline that Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies were called the Lisa Marie’s California home Thursday to tend to a person suffering from cardiac arrest. She was reportedly transported to the hospital after being stabilized.

“I just had a feeling,” she said, per the AP. “He wasn’t doing well. All I know is I had it (a feeling), and it happened. I was obsessed with death at a very early age.”

Lisa Marie went on to follow in the steps of her famous father and formed her own singing career, releasing three albums: 2003’s To Whom It May Concern, 2005’s Now What and 2012’s Storm & Grace. She was also known for her high profile relationships, including marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicholas Cage, as well as Danny Keough. She most recently wed
married to Michael Lockwood; the two divorced in 2021.

Along with her mother Priscilla, Lisa Marie is survived by her daughters Riley Keough and Harper and Finley Lockwood. Her son Benjamin Keough died in 2020 at 27.
