Jennifer Lawrence rocks plunging leather look at pre-SAG Awards party

Jennifer Lawrence is taking the plunge.
The “Silver Linings Playbook” star, 32, might have skipped the SAG Awards 2023 red carpet yesterday, but she made a bold statement in a super-low-cut look at a W magazine party ahead of the event on Friday.
Wearing Alaïa from head to toe, the actress selected a black blazer with a plunging front that showed off her curves, which she styled sans shirt.
She paired the piece with a black leather maxi skirt, Mary Jane heels ($1,150) and a shoulder bag ($3,100) from the same luxury label for the magazine’s annual Best Performances Party.
Lawrence wore her blond hair in beachy waves for the event, showing off a natural bronzed makeup look and skipping any flashy accessories.
She joined stars such as Kate Hudson and Camila Morrone at the bash — along with Austin Butler and Kaia Gerber, who were “making out all night,” a source tells Page Six.
The party marks a rare appearance for the “X-Men” actress, who has kept a low profile since the birth of her first child, Cy, last February.
Lawrence — who is married to art dealer Cooke Maroney — took a several-year hiatus from acting ahead of her son’s birth, but returned to screens in 2022’s “Causeway.”
With her baby boy recently turning 1 and the upcoming film “No Hard Feelings” on the horizon, perhaps we’ll see more of Lawrence on the red carpet soon.
Aubrey Plaza deserves a “White Lotus”-style vacation after this dress drama.
The actress was arguably the sexiest-dressed attendee on the SAG Awards 2023 red carpet Sunday, where she arrived wearing a metallic bronze Michael Kors gown with a high slit, crisscrossed straps and a skin-baring cutout in front that put her abs and underboob on display.
But when the cast of “The White Lotus” won the award for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, viewers noticed Plaza, 38, appeared flustered and “annoyed” onstage.
At one point during the group’s acceptance speech, Jon Gries — who played Jennifer Coolidge’s character’s husband in Season 2 of the HBO hit — could be seen grabbing Plaza’s arm and whispering something into her ear, after which she frantically adjusted her dress and seemingly mouthed, “Jesus Christ.”
Fans were split on social media, with some wondering if Plaza had narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction and others accusing Gries of making her uncomfortable by commenting on her cleavage.
“Kinda feeling like Jon Gries didn’t need to do all that and make it a thing ON STAGE like she was fine, she looked hot,” one tweeted, adding, “I think Jon Gries made her paranoid when she had no reason to be because her dress looked fine.”
Chimed in another concerned commenter, “I think that actor said something to Aubrey that was f@@d up. I don’t think anything was wrong with her dress,” before congratulating her on her nearly overshadowed win.
Wrote a third, “death to that man that whispered to aubrey that her dress was falling down her chest because it actually wasn’t and that’s how it was supposed to look and she adjusted it anyways and was embarrassed.”
And a fourth blamed other male members of the “White Lotus” cast, writing, “Aubrey Plaza was upset because those dumb men weren’t making space for her and then one of them was being rude about her dress, like omg, let her be,” before summing it up with, “Men are annoying.”

But a fifth noted that Plaza might’ve been stressing about her dress since the start of the night, tweeting, “I know y’all want drama but to me it looked like Aubrey Plaza had a wardrobe malfunction and was trying to hide behind the guys, swore when they moved, and ran off the stage to fix it.”
Plaza accepted the award alongside co-stars F. Murray Abraham, Meghann Fahy, Theo James and Will Sharpe.
Earlier during the ceremony, the “Ingrid Goes West” actress presented an award alongside “Wednesday” star Jenna Ortega.

This is one royal repeat that has us seeing double.
Kate Middleton 41, engaged in some friendly competition with Prince William, 41, when the pair cheered on different teams at the Wales vs. England Six Nations rugby match in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday — and her houndstooth coat brings back memories of Princess Diana.
Wearing a black turtleneck with the same red-and-white Catherine Walker coat she sported during her pregnancy with Prince Louis in 2018, the Princess of Wales channeled the Moschino suit jacket her late mother-in-law sported in the early 1990s.
Princess Diana wore her red-and-white houndstooth jacket with a black turtleneck and coordinating black-and-white pencil skirt to Princess Eugenie’s christening in 1990, later re-wearing the striking outfit on a 1991 visit to Toronto.
And while the coat was a repeat for Middleton, her fresh styling with the addition of a turtleneck made it even more similar to Diana’s while, in 2018, she wore the Catherine Walker ensemble sans sweater, adding burgundy heels and carrying a matching maroon Chanel handbag.
Her updated look included a white Mulberry bag, black tights and a pair of black suede Aquatalia suede booties that she’s worn for years, even sporting a brown version of the style as far back as 2011.
As for Middleton, her choice of coat was not only a nod to Diana, but a case of diplomatic dressing; red is the color of the Welsh rugby team, while white honors England.
This also isn’t the first time she’s channeled Diana’s style in houndstooth at an England vs. Wales rugby match.
Last year, the Princess of Wales donned a different black-and-white patterned jacket by Holland Cooper ($600) that resembled a look Diana wore to watch the same teams play in 1993.

Of course, as patron of England’s Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League, fans (and Prince William) knew who she was really cheering for on Saturday, despite her diplomatic coat.
“If we win today my wife won’t speak to me,” Prince William, who is patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, said to reporters before the big match. “It will be a tense evening.”
Luckily for the princess (and William), her coat proved to be a good luck charm as England came out as the victors of this weekend’s match.
At the annual SAG Awards, it’s all about celebrating the year’s best work by actors and actresses — and when it comes to the red carpet, you can expect outfit as dramatic as the evening’s honored performances.
The 2023 event, for instance, saw plentiful pops of color, scores of sequins, striking silhouettes and pearl accents aplenty.
Below, see our best-dressed picks from this year’s SAG Awards, from Zendaya’s rosy Valentino to Amanda Seyfried’s pretty Prada mini.

Zendaya

The “Euphoria” actress looked blooming beautiful in a strapless pink silk Valentino Haute Couture bustier dress dotted with 190 rosettes and accessorized with Bulgari jewels, including a gorgeous choker set with pastel-hued gems.
Danielle Deadwyler

The “Till” nominee looked terrific in a sequined Louis Vuitton gown with ombré petals cascading down the skirt.
Amanda Seyfried

Perhaps inspired by Elizabeth Holmes’ beloved green juice, the “Dropout” star stood out from the pack in an apple green Prada minidress with a minimalist train and bows at both shoulders, which she accessorized with matching emerald gems from Cartier.
Cara Delevingne

The model-turned-“Only Murders in the Building” actress embodied elegance in a black long-sleeved Carolina Herrera jumpsuit with a sweeping overskirt and a duo of rosettes at the bodice. Classic diamonds from De Beers — including a spectacular necklace weighing in at roughly 75 carats — completed her look.
Quinta Brunson

We hope the “Abbott Elementary” creator and star managed to snap a few “shellfies” in her beautiful scallop-inspired Jean-Louis Sebaji gown.
Jennifer Coolidge

The “White Lotus” favorite went full Brigitte Bardot for her first-ever SAG Awards, pairing her slinky, sophisticated Saint Laurent gown with a matching headband and bombshell-worthy blond waves.
Meghann Fahy

Coolidge’s co-star looked white-hot in a shimmering cutout gown by Ralph Lauren teamed with just a few well-placed Cartier diamonds.
Haley Lu Richardson

In addition to taking home the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series award, the cast of “The White Lotus” crushed it on the fashion front. While Coolidge and Fahy both went the route of sexy simplicity, Richardson embraced girly glamour in a strapless Carolina Herrera style covered in sequins, studded with pearls and accessorized with a matching embellished purse and a sprinkling of Boucheron bling.
Michelle Yeoh

With its whimsical explosion of golden sequins, Michelle Yeoh’s Schiaparelli Haute Couture creation drew comparisons to french fries and shredded paper on social media, but we applaud the “Everything Everywhere All at Once” actress for taking a red carpet risk. Yellow diamonds from Moussaieff finished off Yeoh’s fun look.

This ankle brace is très chic!
“Emily in Paris” star Ashley Park hit the SAG Awards 2023 red carpet Sunday wearing a stunningly embellished Elie Saab Haute Couture gown with a dramatic cape — but it was her accessories that caused a stir.
Park, 31, sported a pair of towering gold Steve Madden Darla Platforms ($139) featuring a whopping 6.25-inch heel — paired with a silver bedazzled ankle brace, as the actress injured herself at the Atlantis Royal opening in Dubai in January.
The Broadway vet gamely showed off the brace as she posed for photographers on the carpet.
Park kept her makeup simple for the evening, and opted for an elegant updo and diamond hoop earrings to complete the look.
Park hasn’t been letting the ankle injury get her down; she presented alongside “White Lotus” standout Haley Lu Richardson during the ceremony, and posed with the HBO star in a playful snap from inside the awards show.
What do you think? Post a comment.
In January, Park hit Paris Fashion Week in a similar (though far less sparkly) brace, even arriving at the Valentino show in a wheelchair before swapping it for a set of crutches.
She even managed to cohost a party in the City of Light while hobbling around with her walking aids.
We’re happy to see Park’s back in her heels — but hopefully she’ll be careful tonight.
