Aaron Rodgers’ Jets ‘wish list’ includes Odell Beckham Jr.
Aaron Rodgers reportedly has a “wish list” of players he wants the Jets to sign if he brings his talents to East Rutherford – and apart from the usual suspects, there was a surprising name among the group.
Rodgers wants the Jets to sign Odell Beckham Jr., according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, among a group of other familiar faces the 39-year-old quarterback has played with in Green Bay over the years.
The other players listed on his wish list were receivers Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard, and tight end Marcedes Lewis.
Beckham is an interesting free-agency case, as the former Giants star is likely looking for a big contract as he eyes a return to the NFL after tearing his ACL in Super Bowl 2022 with the Rams.
The Jets only currently have about $11 million in cap space – and that’s before they try to get Rodgers’ $31 million cap hit on their books, should they pull off the trade that everyone is expecting at this point.
The Jets were among one of the “12-to-14 teams” that attended a private workout Beckham put on in Arizona last Friday, according to The Post’s Brian Costello.

Lazard, too, would likely fetch a large deal in a thin wide receiver market, with few other options available in free agency.
Both the Jets and Packers are waiting with bated breath as Rodgers contemplates his decision on whether to retire, remain with Green Bay or accept the trade to New York that the entire NFL world is anticipating.
Sports Illustrated’s Andrew Brandt described Rodgers’ indecision as holding the Packers “hostage” – despite a quote from the mercurial quarterback in January saying he would do the exact opposite.

Now, free agency is underway – and both the Jets and Packers need to know who their quarterback will be in 2023 as they try to fill out their rosters.
If the Jets want to land Rodgers, it seems like he will not be the only player they need to acquire in the coming days.
