New Assassin’s Creed Mirage Trailer Confirms Release in 2023
During the PlayStation Showcase, Ubisoft announced the release date of Assassin’s Creed Mirage along with a gameplay trailer for the upcoming installment in the long-running franchise that launches October 12, 2023. The release date was actually leaked Japanese retailers, but luckily it was only a few hours before the actual reveal.
The new Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay trailer during the PlayStation Showcase shows the main protagonist Basim along with his fellow Hidden Ones fighting in ways that are quite reminiscent of the Assassin’s Creed games of yore. Stealth will be an important focus in the game this time, taking the series back to its roots. But along with that, he gains new abilities like Assassin’s Focus which allows him to mark and assassinate several enemies in a row, which sounds similar to the Mark and Execute technique from Splinter Cell. Additionally, the gameplay footage showcases the game’s world that takes place in 9th-century Baghdad, which sounds like a great place to try out the new parkour abilities.
This is the first time the Assassin’s Creed franchise has taken such a long break, as Mirage comes out 3 years after the last game. But this isn’t the only game in the series coming out soon, because Ubisoft has a lot more in store for fans.
Starting today, the game will be available for pre-order on PlayStation 5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and Amazon Luna, as well as on Windows PC through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store. Players can also subscribe to Ubisoft+ to access the game at launch.
